Michelle Gauntlett26 Jan 2022 - 18:52

What happens on tour stays on tour!

U18s Girls Academy finally got to head out on the inaugral girls' tour on the weekend of 15th January.

Tour organiser and tour number 8, Molly Manaton, started the day early with a BBC Gloucester radio interview at 0700! Fast forward to 0704... https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/live:bbc_radio_gloucestershire

Catching the tour transport at 1015 on Saturday, the U18s Girls Academy team headed off to Gloucester to watch the fabulous Sales Women take on Gloucester-Hartpury Women.

Tour banter was high with traditional rugby games and loud music heading down the M6.

The team continued the SNAP banter and watched the fabulous women from the North West take the challenge head-on, with massive tackles from previous C&N RUFC coaches Georgia Perris-Reading & Vicky Irwin.

Tour banter continued...... Saturday night dinner, and a few bevvies for those ages over 18.....

Sunday saw some fresh-faced and some slightly tired U18s Girls Academy take on the mixed team from Old Richians RUFC & Hucclecote RUFC. 16 touring girls showing the South West what the North West have to offer. The match ended at a 5 all draw.

Tour banter continued..... Crewe & Nantwich RUFC U18s Girls Academy player of the match was awarded to Kinga. Donkey of the tour was awarded to Frankie. Hero of the tour was awarded to Molly.

(And a special mention goes to the young ladies, Pembo, Crumpy & Frankie for not stopping the play with having poorly tummies and not throwing up on the opposition!)
